Chana Place

We ended up booking here because another nearby hotel was far from habitable. The staff were great about showing us different room options, and the room we chose was incredible for the price: AC, TV, private bathroom, fridge, and more. There’s a lobby with lots of chairs to relax in, and drinks are available. A nice stay, and walk-in booking worked out well.

For one night as a backpacker, this was perfect, and 24€ for the night felt reasonable. The beds were very comfortable, everything was clean, and the staff were really friendly. There was a toilet smell when we first arrived.

At 1400B a night on 1st and 2nd Jan 2026, this felt overpriced, and I was misled by the 8+ grading. There’s no lift, so we had to carry our luggage up to the 4th floor. The room was run-down and dark, with old wooden furniture. The ceiling fan and service-area light didn’t work. The bathroom was so small that if you’re six feet tall, it’s hard to move around. There was a huge fridge, unlike any I’ve seen in a hotel, and large side-table lamps by the bed. The wooden bed creaked whenever I got up at night or turned over, enough to wake my partner. Toiletries weren’t replenished, and there was no hair dryer or tissue paper, so I had to call and ask. Room service didn’t sweep the floor, and I could see my wife’s hair left around. The towels and floor mat weren’t replaced. The lobby common area should have been a nice, spacious place to rest, but it was always occupied by smokers. I would never recommend staying here.

The staff were really friendly, and my room was beautiful and well cared for. I had a very good stay and definitely recommend this place.
