Bodega Chiang Mai Party Hostel - Adults Only

The hostel was clean enough and fine for my stay. It was nearly empty, which suited me since I like a quiet place, and the price was good, about $17 AUD for the night. The blanket was included when I stayed, despite what I’d read in other reviews, so perhaps they’ve responded to those comments. It has a lot of potential, but the management needs to decide what sort of hostel it wants to be. It advertises itself as a party place, yet it felt completely dead when I arrived, which is bound to disappoint people. A different look could suit a chill hostel. If they really want a party crowd, the management needs to make major changes. What they’ve been doing hasn’t brought that crowd in, and high drink prices and strict rules will only make that harder. The location was good, and the rooms were okay, though curtains would help. The shower was unbelievably bad: barely a drip came out, it flooded the floor, and the water wouldn’t drain properly. I had to pay to get my hair washed elsewhere. It’s billed as a party hostel, but there was no sign of a party or anyone around, and no reps. I wouldn’t recommend it, especially for a solo traveler.

The staff were great and didn’t mind when my friends and I checked out quite late. We all shared one room, and it worked well: the aircon was good and the bathroom was nice. You do have to pay for a blanket, but it’s very cheap. The location was lovely too, about a 15-minute walk from the busy Sunday night market, with a 7-eleven close by. I’d stay again.

The staff were really nice, the price was very good, and the place had a great vibe. The rooms were clean and had pillows, towels, and toiletries, but no blanket unless you pay 60 baht for one. The aircon was cold, and I didn’t find any bed bugs. They also offer tours and activities. The location is a bit far from the main gate.
