Ing Mon House

Mornings on the balcony were especially nice, with cool air and Doi Suthep in the distance. The place was peaceful all night and early in the morning, which made for a relaxing stay. I spent four nights over a long weekend and paid 6300 baht, or 1575 THB per night, for the family room, the largest available at a little over 30 SQM. That felt fair for a comfortable, quiet location. Check-in was easy, and the staff were friendly and helpful. My room was upstairs on the top floor, with no lift, though the stairs were in good condition and had a handrail. If stairs are difficult for you, I'd ask for a ground-floor room. They brought water and complimentary coffee and biscuits each day, and cleaned the room daily.

We had a very pleasant stay, and for around 30 € for a double room with a balcony, the value was good. The room was even nicer in person than in the somewhat dated online photos, and the staff were very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. We did notice dust on the walls and ceiling, though it wasn’t a major issue. Also, paying by card at the hotel came with a 3 percent bank fee that we hadn’t been told about in advance. It would be helpful if they explained that more clearly.

The location takes about a 15-20 minute walk to reach where most things are happening, and tour pickups rarely come here, so you have to get to the designated pickup spots yourself. Even so, after seven nights as a solo traveler, I’d book Ing Mon House again. My room was spacious and clean, and the big fridge came in handy for keeping litres of water and other bits. Housekeeping did a good job, and the staff were polite, smiley, and provided great service. Breakfast was so-so, but fine.

We had an electricity issue, and the reception staff tried to sort it out right away. They were also super friendly and helpful, even booking a day trip for us at nearly 11 at night. We had a great stay at the Ing Mon House.
