Centre Place Hotel Chiang Mai

There were rats and cockroaches around the hotel, and I could hear the rats from my room. The AC was extremely loud because its fan was broken, and it didn’t work properly. The staff were unhelpful and seemed not to care.

The rooms are on the small side and the beds are a bit firm, so keep the price in mind when setting expectations. You get what you need, though, and the staff are sweet. For budget accommodation in a central spot, it’s hard to beat, and I’d stay again.

I’ve been at Home Place Hotel for 2.5 months as a long-stay renter, and I’m very pleased with the room. It has the facilities I need: a fridge, kettle, air-con, tv, close, shelves, mirror and small desk. It’s easy to keep mosquitoes out, and I found the room clean with a comfortable bed. The shower could be better, but it’s still ok. With the monthly discount, it’s a really good place for the price. The terrace at the back is quiet and well maintained, and I enjoy the morning sun there. I also chose this place for the cosy hangout space in front and private bike parking. The location is great too. The manager and staff are very communicative, friendly and helpful, and they really try to sort out any issues you run into here in Chiang Mai. I’m happy here. It’s definitely my ‘Home Place’ in Chiang Mai 👍🏼

The service was good, and the guy was very helpful, but I struggled to sleep there even for one night. The rooms smell terrible and really need a deep clean. There was also a strong putrid smell when I opened the toilet sink, so I’d say the water deposit needs disinfecting.
