Chula Room & Service

The room was clean, and the customer service earned four stars from me. It's a budget place, so don't expect much in the way of amenities: no pool or gym, and I did have concerns about security. There is free wifi and a basic breakfast of toast and coffee. If you're trying to save money, it's a good option, and I'd probably stay again when I'm back in Chang Mai.

The room was clean, but the reception experience was awful. I had booked one night and wanted to add two more. A rude receptionist knocked and told me I had to move rooms, which I accepted. I then tried to explain that I wanted to cancel the one-night booking and make a new booking for two nights, but she didn't understand me well in English and we wasted a lot of time. Her manner was uncomfortable and unfriendly. She shouted, "up to you," the only sentence she seemed to know, then shut the door hard. I've never dealt with such a bad receptionist, and I won't return to this hotel.

We felt at home here, even in busy Chiang Mai. The place is clean, simple, comfortable, easygoing, and a great price, with the big market within walking distance. Nuna and the rest of the staff were so kind and helpful. They even looked after our bags while we went on a 12-day trip to Pai. As a couple, we found it an easy, comfortable place for a few nights, and Chula was our best choice. We'll definitely come back. Kapun kap!! 😊

Edit: The place itself is quiet, clean, and nothing fancy. At reception they agreed when I asked to extend my stay by two days, and told me to come pay the next day. Then at 11 o'clock the following morning, a rude girl knocked on my door demanding the keys because the place was fully booked. No apology, just rude behavior.
