De Nara Hotel (SHA Extra Plus)

The biggest problem for me was the noise late at night from a nearby venue. The bass came through the building until after 3am, which was very disruptive as I’m a light sleeper. I liked the location, the friendly and helpful check-in staff, the little balcony outside my room, and the small pool area as a place to relax. There were some practical drawbacks: my window was at corridor level, so with the curtains shut the room was quite dark, but with them open people could walk past and see in. Breakfast was basic, so I went to nearby cafés instead. Reception also wasn’t always staffed when I passed through.

The unbearable noise from the neighboring nightclub kept me awake. The hotel offered earplugs, but they didn’t help because the bass still resonated. I was told the club’s music every night until 05.00. AM was legal and there was nothing the hotel could do. I feel sorry for the nice woman at reception and the other kind staff. I only read afterward that many other guests had the same experience. Sorry for the hotel. Regards, sleepless.

Come for a great night's sleep and the easy walk to everything Chiang Mai has to offer. The pool and parking aren't the reasons to book here.

There’s a restaurant opposite the hotel that I think is one of the best in Chiang Mai. The location was amazing, the staff very helpful, and I absolutely loved the place.
