The on-site restaurant deserves a mention: excellent northern Thai flavors, comforting dishes, fair prices, and great service. The garden is beautiful and carefully maintained, and it's clear a lot of care goes into the place. The hostess was warm, kind, and genuinely caring. Housekeeping came every three days with fresh sheets, and one bottle of water per person was delivered to the room daily. We stayed in a family house with two adults and two children. It was spacious and well laid out, with a kitchen and two bathrooms. The houses are former rice barns, wooden and simple but very cozy and comfortable. The atmosphere is special and memorable, peaceful, and feels authentically Thai rather than like a typical noisy hotel. The pool is beautiful and well kept, though the water can be quite cold in the mornings after cool nights, when temperatures drop to around 15-18°C. Our only downside was a rooster crowing early on the other side of the fence. Since the houses are wooden, sounds carry more easily. Thank you for everything, this is a stay we'll remember.

A lovely hideaway in an original northern rice barn, with a great restaurant and coffee. It's a unique place, so don't expect typical hotel service. Instead, you'll find yourself settling into a quiet, romantic northern lifestyle.

The food alone makes this place worth finding. Lana Ricebarn serves delicious northern-style Thai dishes, and the restaurant is part of a peaceful homestay surrounded by lush gardens. It’s just over 20 minutes from Chiang Mai Old Town, near 89 Plaza. The traditional Thai huts sleep two for 2,000 baht a night, while the larger rooms for four cost 4,000 Baht. There are local temple ruins beside the property and some old cultural items to look at, plus plenty of parking. A lovely spot whether you’re stopping for a meal or staying overnight.

Palm trees surround the stilted rooms, and there’s an infinity pool and a lovely restaurant serving authentic Thai food. The staff were lovely too. It’s a gorgeous hotel on the edge of Chiang Mai, though an easy taxi ride from town.
