Duangdren Place

Inside it was nice, even though the buildings looked old from the outside. The reception kindly let us check in very early, at 8 AM. It's really close to the airport, and we'll surely come back. Didn't take photos of the room 😅

I wouldn't suggest staying here for long because the staff attitude I experienced was cold. The lady gave me a rude welcome at check-in, and the cleaning staff were unfriendly and very rude. I did appreciate that the room was cleaned well, and it was nice and unusual. The room had English channels, proper toilet amenities and a coffee maker. They offer breakfast in the morning, though I didn't try it. The place faces the main road, so it can get really noisy. The bathroom window had no shade, meaning people outside could see in, and the towel rod was already bent and damaged when I arrived. The Airport mall is a five-minute walk away, and there's a Seven Eleven near it across the road. I booked five nights through Agoda. For a short stay, the noise may be manageable. I'm an Indian solo traveler. Thank you.

Cheap, so it's an option if you're on a budget. The AC didn't work properly and I lost sleep, partly because there were lots of gaps around the room where the air could escape. The free breakfast was below average, just coffee, a teapot, bread, jam and pork porridge.

After a draining 12-hour trip from Baguio to Manila to Chiang Mai, I was exhausted. Duangdren Place was a welcome change. The room had a modern, cozy industrial look, with exposed brick, corrugated roofing sheet, concrete walls and sleek metal furniture. It was spotless, and the bed was a lifesaver after that long journey. Check-in was quick, and the staff were warm and helpful even though I was barely awake. I enjoyed a late meal of Thai noodles and dumplings in the relaxed common area. The Wi-Fi worked reliably and the atmosphere was peaceful. It's near the main road, which could bother light sleepers, but I slept fine. Breakfast is included, nothing special, but a useful start if you're in a hurry like I was. The place has character and combines comfort, style and affordability. I'd come back.
