El Barrio Lanna

We were extremely happy with this property and the staff. Breakfast had good choices, with both western and Asian styles, and we enjoyed the quiet nights and safe neighbourhood. Our room was on the 2nd floor, reachable by stairs or elevator. It was super clean, with a good sized bathroom and good water temperature and pressure. I found the bed more comfortable than most I’ve slept in, even better than Le Meridien in Chiang Rai. Just remember this is a smaller boutique hotel, not a huge chain, so there’s limited clothing storage and we kept our things in the suitcase. At this time of year the sun doesn’t reach the pool, though it may be different in other months. That wasn’t a deal breaker for us.

The staff looked after me really well, and I liked the clean rooms and pleasant atmosphere. It was my first time staying here, though my second visit to Chiang Mai, and this was the best hotel experience I’ve had. Breakfast was excellent, too. I really liked my stay.

We were in room 403, and it was clean. The beds and pillows were so comfortable that I slept really well all four nights. After a hot day out, the pool was great for relaxing. El Barrio is in a peaceful, quiet neighbourhood, yet food, bars, and Calm Massage and Spa are only minutes away. The staff were helpful and respectful. I’d book again on my next trip. We loved the courtyard, with the pool and breakfast served there. This is a small, cozy hotel in the heart of Chiang Mai, and the location is excellent. Since we were there over the weekend, both the Saturday and Sunday night markets were an easy walk away. The room felt warm and welcoming while still being modern and stylish.
