Wintree City Resort Chiang Mai

Breakfast was the highlight for me: the buffet had plenty of choice, with dishes changing each day, and everything was hot and fresh. The cakes at the restaurant were delicious too, whether you eat them there or take one to your room. Room service food was also tasty. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean, spacious, and modern. There are a few cafes, bakeries, a gym, and a barber you can walk to nearby. The resort sits on the highway, so having a car or using Grab is best for getting around. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend Wintree city resort to anyone visiting Chiang Mai.

We didn't enjoy our stay, unfortunately. We booked a Premier King Room but got a ground-floor room with no view, and there were about 10 mosquitoes flying around when we arrived, so we asked reception for bug spray. They were accommodating. The shower drain was too slow, leaving a puddle, and the door opened outward, making it awkward to get past the toilet when stepping out. I managed to fix it so it opened inward. The WiFi also went down regularly, and I busted my shin on the corner of the bed 😡 (see attached photo). At least the staff were nice and breakfast was decent. The location is okay, but walking to the mall is difficult, and a taxi costs about 80baht. It's a half-hour walk to the old city.

The room was far from comfortable: we could hear the people next door talking, doors slamming, and furniture being dragged upstairs because the walls weren't soundproof. There was a strong cat urine smell in our room, and the smoking area was right next to it, even though we'd told the hotel beforehand that we were traveling with infants. Service was slow from the start and didn't feel welcoming. The included breakfast was poorly organized, overcrowded, and short on food and staff. I waited over 10 minutes for someone to clean a table, then did it myself. Other guests even came to our table to take cutlery. The whole hotel felt noisy, chaotic, and badly managed. We didn't get the relaxing stay we hoped for, and we won't be back. I was very disappointed with Wintree City Resort and wouldn't recommend it.

The location is close to both Maya Lifestyle Shopping Center and One Nimman. The hotel feels new and bright, and the staff are really friendly. We especially liked the delicious breakfast. 🇹🇭Wintree City Resort Chiang Mai🏊‍♂️
