Fang Chiang Mai

The rooms were a bit subpar, and having the bathroom right in the room without an exhaust fan made it feel stuffy and somewhat smelly. Still, I came to Thailand for the experience outside, so the room was fine for me. The service was amazing, everyone was caring and kind, and the owner sits out front to chat with guests. I'd definitely recommend the place.

The room was clean and had what we needed, and the breakfast was simple but good, with three set menus to choose from. The people here are so friendly and helpful, and really went the extra mile. It's easy to walk to Old City landmarks like Tha Phae Gate and along the river.

The location is good, but I had a terrible stay. Noise continued through the night and morning, and after I complained, they opened the hallway ceiling at 7am to fix it. I barely slept, and nobody offered even coffee or breakfast. When I asked for compensation, the manager accused me of smoking in the room, which I did not do. The manager and front desk staff, the older man and woman in red shirts shown in some other reviewers' photos, threatened to call police and keep my deposit over the alleged smoking. I would avoid this hotel. If you complain, the manager and staff may threaten you with police. There are many other options in better condition with honest management. This was my worst hotel experience in Thailand and Vietnam.

Fang Chiang Mai hotel is well placed between the old town and night bazaar, with clean, comfortable rooms and kind, helpful staff. The boss and manager were professional and ready to assist. The water pump can be a little noisy at night, which may bother you if you're picky. Otherwise, it's a great place with a warm team, and I'll come back soon.
