Full stop. Hostel Chiang Mai

The hotel itself is nice and good for the price, with a 7/11 nearby on the same side of the road, just 2/3 minutes away. There's free coffee in the morning, lots of movies and games, and a nice orange cat. You can walk to some good spots in about 20 min, and it's handy for the airport. The area is a little noisy, though.

Avoid this hostel. They canceled our booking just one day before we were due to arrive and told us to "find something else." We would have been only 10 minutes past reception's closing time, and they usually give guests door codes, but they refused to send one. It happened during peak festival season, when every hotel was fully booked. The staff were cold and completely unhelpful. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs!

The main road location makes it a bit noisy at night. You can cook and play games on the second floor, but there are a lot of stairs, which isn't convenient if you're traveling with luggage. They asked for a 300B key deposit, which felt like too much. There's no street food nearby, and the 7 eleven is across the road, so you can't walk there.

The staff and cleanliness were the bright spots here. The cleaning lady was lovely, the room and stairs were spotless, and the young man at reception was friendly and polite. But the hotel is right by highway #1141, so traffic noise goes on day and night. I still woke up several times even with the windows closed. The water pressure was inconsistent too, which made for an unpleasant shower. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
