Grand Maihom Hotel

The bed and shower/toilet are the best parts. The bed is comfy and the room is okay, though there are no cups, kettle, or other essentials, just cheap white soap. The price has gone from 550 thb to 650 thb while service has gone backwards over the past year, which is disappointing. If you just need one night and there’s nothing else, it’ll do, but otherwise I’d look elsewhere in Suthep. Things have gone downhill fast in the last year. Guests used to get a respectful greeting, but two staff in particular now make sour faces and are hard to get a smile from. There’s no covered parking at all for bikes, scooters, or cars, so everything sits out in the rain around the clock. The front area is packed with cars and looks almost like a sales yard, with not a single tree on the property, just a cement jungle. Breakfast is white bread with some marmalade jam and a spoon, a toaster, an old hot water machine that doesn’t boil, and some jam biscuits in a big jar. If you’re unlucky enough to get a room in the second building, it can be very noisy. Some rooms hold 5-6 people, and Thai groups and work functions often book group rooms. Wed 15/5/2024

The staff were really polite and nice, and I enjoyed my stay here. I stayed for almost a week, and the hotel was very clean and modern. I’d highly recommend it and would definitely come back.

It’s farther from the city, but I’d definitely recommend it if you have your own transport. The best price is when you book directly with the hotel itself!
