Hotel M Chiangmai

The hotel was amazing, close to everything, and the staff were friendly and amazing. Noise was my only issue. We were there during the valentines day holiday, when there was an amazing flower parade with lots of loud, but good, music. We probably should have picked a room toward the back to avoid most of the sound.

Hotel M made a comfortable and convenient base for our family trip to Chiang Mai, and it was great value for money. The hotel is stylish and very clean, with lovely staff. The location right by Tha Pae Gate is hard to beat.

The best thing about this hotel is the location. Night market, temples, restaurants, and shops are all nearby, and you’re never far from anything. It’s a three-star property, so expectations should match that, but there are definitely some things it could improve. The sound insulation isn’t great, probably because it’s right in the city center, and street noise comes through. It usually quiets down around 11 p.m., so it’s manageable if you go to bed late. The shower faucet is another small annoyance, as it’s hard to open and close properly. Having both a gym and swimming pool is a plus, but the gym closes at 7 p.m. That feels very early, especially since it’s a small gym with independent access using your room card. I’d gladly add another star if they changed the hours. Breakfast didn’t have a very wide selection, and unfortunately it gave me digestive issues that I didn’t have elsewhere during my stay. A decent three-star hotel with an excellent location, though some areas could use improvement.

Right in front of thapae gate, the hotel is very central, with Mcdonald's, Boots, 7 Eleven, and local eateries nearby. Breakfast was surprisingly good, especially the Pad Thai. The rooms were basic, but clean and comfortable.
