It’s easy to see why this is Chiang Mai’s most popular hostel. The place is clean, in a great location, and has a really good cafe. Reception is open 24 hours, and the staff are friendly and attentive. I heard the rooftop bar is nice, though I don’t drink much and didn’t get up there during my stay. I did see the happy hour deals: three cans of Chang beer for 120 baht, or buy one, get one free on rum or vodka with soft drink.

We liked the price so much we added a couple more nights. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially Ed, who was kind and great to deal with. They answered all our questions about tours and transport. The dorms were clean, the lockers very spacious, and we met lots of great travelers. The rooftop bar has a great view and vibe. The common room had a bit of a sock smell, though it does have A/C. The restaurant next door was fairly priced, but there are cheaper food options down the street.

The rooms and bathrooms were clean, the showers were great, and the Wi-Fi worked well. There’s also a cool roof. Food options were the only downside at the time, though I think they were getting a chef. It’s near the city center, but walking back and forth all the time can feel like a long trek. I’d definitely consider staying again.

The dorms were a decent size, so you’re not on top of each other, and the beds were good with air conditioning. Everything looked clean and well maintained, and you can book tours through the hostel. It’s well priced, with a rooftop bar that’s also reasonably priced. Breakfast isn’t included, and the cafe next door is a bit expensive.

My overnight bus from Bangkok got me here at 7am, hours before room check-in. They let me sleep and charge my phone in the air-conditioned entertainment room, which had a TV and mattress-like pads, until 2pm. I was in a 12-bed dorm and had no issues. The big lockers and 24-hour reception were useful, and there’s a storage room too. The rooftop bar is a lovely sunset spot, especially for a cheap happy-hour drink. Staff are really friendly, there’s a cafe downstairs, laundry service, and they’ll refill your water bottle for 5 baht. The nightly food market is only a two-minute walk away. You can rent a towel for 50 baht.
