Mercure Chiang Mai

I’d planned to stay just one night while my colleagues were at Novotel, but the attentive service made me extend my stay. Check-in was quick, and our rooms had already been assigned with upgrades. The staff were friendly and handled every request right away, with care and urgency. The property is a bit old, but the spacious rooms are well maintained and spotless, and the beds are comfortable. I also liked the welcome fruit, bathrobe, slippers, and body lotion. Breakfast was decent, with regular local and continental choices, though nothing special.

From the moment we arrived, the team at Mercure Hotel Chiang Mai made us feel welcome. The rooms were clean, and it was easy to arrange what we needed. Everyone was polite, friendly, and ready to help, which made the whole stay relaxed and convenient. Thanks to the team for their kind service. We’d be happy to come back ☺️.

The reception, dining, and meeting areas have a grand, lavish 70s or 80s hotel feel, complete with a grand piano. There’s a regal, almost "Here's Johnny" quality to it. The place isn’t quite old enough to be vintage, but it’s worn enough to feel dated. In my room, wear showed everywhere: the furnishings were frayed, outlets were scarce, and the shower water was warm but never hot. Maybe the hotel has seen a few too many busloads of Asian tourists. The reception staff were exceptionally sweet, though.

The hotel is quite old, but the price feels justified. The location is quiet, the room was clean, and the staff were attentive and provided exceptional service. It seems to be a popular choice for EU/US tourists.
