There’s a cute little cafe and bar downstairs, with outdoor seating and a small courtyard. The rooms are surprisingly spacious for such a good location. Kamala, the owner, is well travelled, friendly, and very welcoming, and I think she draws interesting people in the best way. The staff, Beer and Nong, are two lovely Thai women. It’s easy to meet people from around the world here, and it suits all ages. The location is perfect for walking around Chiang Mai Old Town, and the two main food and entertainment areas are less than 10 minutes away. This is my favourite guesthouse, friendly in a way hotels aren't, without the lack of privacy or loud chaos of a backpackers. I’ve stayed here several times after many visits to Chiang Mai and trying different places and parts of town. Since finding this little gem, it’s where I’ll always stay.

Kamala is a wonderful host, and the staff and other guests are all very friendly. The food is great. I especially recommend the Bahn Mi, absolutely delicious.

It's in a small alley near Tha Phae Gate, so it isn't too noisy, and the location is convenient. Lovely guesthouse, though there's no elevator.

It felt like home staying at Kamala guest house, and everyone was so kind. I especially fell for the black cat! Give it a try if you're in Chiang Mai. Leaving Thailand makes me sad, but it's so beautiful here that I might come back in six months, maybe to work and live. Thank you 🙏

Kamala is a lovely host, and I'll be back. The room was simple and well priced, and the location just outside the old town gate is hard to beat.
