The bed was comfortable, the AC worked well, and the place was clean, though they forgot some basics like refilling the soap and toilet paper. If you book, I'd suggest getting a room with a balcony or window. It's a fair place to catch a few Z's in the nimnam area. Check-in was pleasant and the owner explained everything well. I arrived before check-in, and they stored my bag and brought it to the room when it was ready. The hostility was the downside. My room was entered and a note left saying, "take off shoes in hostel, show respect," after I had already apologized profusely for accidentally wearing my gym shoes out of my room when leaving in the morning. I understand removing shoes is customary, but see above. I was also asked if I'd been smoking in the room, which I hadn't, because the neighbors supposedly called the police. Four stars if not for that.

The receptionist was good, but the bed was too soft and some shower booths didn't drain. The floor was sticky, and although you have to take off your shoes, they don't provide slippers. I couldn't breathe well in the windowless room. You can get woken up if someone uses the dryer on the floor, and the walls don't block noise.

I stayed seven nights, from 2017.07.18 to 2017.07.24. On the fourth night my ankle got very itchy, and I thought a mosquito had bitten me. The day after checking out, I found red marks all over my ankles, upper arms, hands, and waist. I didn't get to see any actual bed bugs, but I'm pretty sure I got bitten at this hostel because bed bugs usually have a 3-5 day incubation period. Apart from that, the stay was okay. The hostel is near MAYA mall and provides housekeeping every day. 2017.09.16, my response to your answer: There are mosquitoes in Thailand. I only used my phone around my face, obviously, though I guess you use yours differently and I don't care. I got marks everywhere, and I've never heard of electromagnetic waves causing itchy, red, swollen skin on the arms, legs, and feet. You wrote about irrelevant things, and it seems like you're just being stubborn about not admitting the fact.

Rooms are a little small, probably better for young travelers on a low budget. They are private, and the bathrooms are shared. It's a great spot beside maya mall and a good night bazar. The guy at reception is cute and helpful, and speaks very good English.
