Lanna Boutique Resort Chiang Mai

It’s older, basic accommodation, a little shabby, and definitely not for anyone expecting luxury or spotless, hospital-grade facilities. Our room was clean enough for us to feel comfortable, though. It wasn’t a scary dive, so there’s that.

The mold smell got into my belongings so badly that I had to throw away more than half of them. The room Wi-Fi didn’t work, and the pool was filthy. The staff looked like they’d walked out of a bad movie, the photos seemed about 50 years old, and the place now feels like it’s falling apart. The whole building looked as if it could collapse at any moment. There were signs everywhere warning guests not to touch the furniture in case it broke and they had to pay a fine. 😅 This place is bizarre. Visit only if you’re a documentary filmmaker with a gas mask. Otherwise, stay far away.

I spent almost a week at Lanna boutique. It’s a nice neighborhood, quiet at night, and easy to walk to lots of places. Everyone at reception was very kind, especially Arron, who would get the sauna room ready for me when I came back after a day out. I had hoped to use the swimming pool, but it didn’t look very clean. The room could use some improvements too: the furniture placement was odd, with the desk beside the bathroom and the closet tucked away in a hard-to-reach corner. The window also had no mosquito net.

Lanna Boutique Resort has a charming Lanna-style feel that made the stay feel distinctive. I especially enjoyed the large swimming pool, a great place to relax and cool off.
