Le Cannes Hotel

We paid 1100 baht per night for two people, breakfast included, at the beginning of February. The place was clean, good value, and the staff were friendly and efficient. It can be a little out of the way, though.

We had travelled a long way, and I was with my elderly mother, who was unwell. Even though there were empty rooms, the hotel would not let us check in a little early unless we paid 300 baht for one hour. The reception staff were extremely rude and showed no empathy. I’ve travelled to many countries and never had an experience like this. A hotel should be welcoming, not so discourteous and inflexible. The whole experience was upsetting and deeply disappointing. I regret booking two days here. Avoid it.

I stayed a few nights on a work trip and found it really pleasant, even though I probably wouldn’t have picked it myself. The rooms are spacious, fairly new and clean, with nothing especially memorable but nothing to complain about either. At the price shown online, it’s good value and the location is good. Bring earplugs, though. It’s beside a busy road, which seems pretty common for city hotels.

We only spent one night at Le Cannes Hotel last year, but the reception team made us feel welcome and were very kind and attentive. It’s close to Chiang Mai’s city center, so the location is convenient. I’d recommend it for a visit and thought it was good value.
