Little Lanna Cafe and Premier Guesthouse

The road is so peaceful, and the location still makes it easy to get around. My partner and I stayed five nights and really loved it. We arrived in Chiang Mai very early, exhausted and without sleep, and they kindly let us check in ahead of time. I'd definitely recommend it.

The staff were kind and helpful, and the location made it fairly easy to explore Chiang Mai. I paid 1,447 THB for two nights in a Standard Double Room at Little Lanna Premier Guesthouse, which seemed fair, but there were some real discomforts. At check-in, I was told the card machine was broken even though I'd booked with a credit card, so I had to go find cash after a long trip. The bed was unbelievably hard, more like a wooden bench than a mattress, and not one I'd want to share with company. Guests also aren't allowed to bring visitors to their rooms. The bathroom flooded into a puddle every time I showered, though at least the ants didn't seem to venture in much. Not a disaster, but not somewhere I could relax or feel comfortable.

I paid very little for a private twin room, and it was spotless. The staff were super friendly too. Everything worked out perfectly.

The staff were great, and one person spoke English with us. Laundry is available by the kilo, with a few washing machines and dryers outside as another option. The location suits younger visitors looking for nightlife. Our room needed work, though, with paint peeling off the walls, and the bathroom design left a big puddle on the floor after every shower. Also, if you're waiting for a taxi in a hurry, go closer to the main road. The hotel is on a tiny road and a taxi could get stuck there for ten minutes.
