Maraya Hotel & Resort

The room itself was close to four-star standard in many ways, but the stay was disappointing because of poor management and missed details. My main problem was the connecting room: I could hear the couple next door talking all night. After I raised it, staff offered a third-floor room, but that was also a connecting room. It was the same setup that had caused the issue, which showed they hadn't understood the problem or found a useful solution. Check-in also felt unprofessional. I waited in the lobby with my luggage for quite a while before I had to ask whether my room was ready. When I asked for a high floor, I was told the second floor was “high enough,” which made little sense. I ended up paying to upgrade to a Pagoda View room so I could be more comfortable. Most of the room was clean enough, but there was visible dust inside the wardrobe and on the bathroom shelves. In the first room, the bathrobes were so worn they looked like rags. When I asked for towels, staff knocked three times in quick, aggressive succession. That felt off-putting and showed a lack of basic etiquette and boundaries. Staff professionalism, attention to guest concerns, and housekeeping all need significant improvement for a hotel claiming four-star standards.
