Grab was easy to use for getting around. We came mainly for the night market, which was brightly lit, felt safe for tourists, and had plenty of food and entertainment choices. There are also lots of places along both sides of the main road outside the market area. You could easily spend 3-4 hours there, and we had a great time.

We ate here every night during our time in Chiangmai, and there were so many different choices that there really seemed to be something for everyone. The artwork guy is worth checking out too, his inexpensive self-portraits are amazing.

It was very hot, so bring a small fan. I found the food, crafts, and souvenirs to be a good selection, and the prices seemed fairly reasonable.

A good spot for gifts to bring home, like shells and magnets. There are little restaurants at the back with decent prices, and you can buy nearly anything here. Most of it seemed to be fake bags for women and fake football shirts. Be ready to bargain, you can usually get 100 to 200 baht off. 😀
