Nivas Chiangmai

The location is a little outside the center, but nearby cafés were lovely places to work, and we could get to nature spots and central neighborhoods on foot or with a short drive. We stayed at Nivas Chiangmai for almost two months with our infant, and the staff were kind, professional, attentive, and wonderful with our baby. The pool was a real pleasure, and the mountain and temple views from our window were so peaceful. I've never seen a hotel this clean. We had an incredible stay and highly recommend it for families.

I booked for a week in Chiang Mai because I wanted to cook for myself, and the kitchen had pretty much everything. The room was spacious, clean, and felt new, and the service was really good too. I forgot my adapter, but they found one for me, which was such a help. It’s also close to Doi Suthep, handy for trail runners. Such a gem, highly recommend it!

We came to visit our son and just got back from a three week stay. The suite had a balcony, kitchen, and bathroom, with a nice view toward the nearby mountains. The quality throughout Nivas was good, and the staff were wonderful, with outstanding service. We’d love to return again and again.

The room was OK and had a kitchenette, but the fridge was so loud I had to unplug it at night. Planes from the nearby airport also flew over the hotel and made quite a bit of noise. There was no bed or reading light, which I found uncomfortable. I spent two weeks here and probably wouldn’t return. The one clear plus is that it’s close to CMU. Nivas didn’t feel like a real hotel to me. The lobby is literally a parking lot, and there’s no restaurant, bar, or other features I’d expect from a three star place. There was also a bug problem during my stay and some rooms needed pest control. My room was fine, but other guests had to move. The payment arrangements weren’t up to international standards. They wanted a cash deposit, which is inconvenient for an international visitor, especially since you only get it back on your last day. They also wanted to add fees for online payment when booking online, which I refused. Service was odd too. I got room cleaning just once during the two weeks. When I asked for toilet paper, they wanted to sell it to me. That’s not what I’d expect from a place aiming for international three star standards.
