Old Town Chiangmai Boutique

The beds were excellent, and the hotel was quiet and clean, with a great location. There’s no elevator and breakfast isn’t included. Also, unless you put the room-cleaning sign outside, they don’t clean or restock your room. We didn’t realize that until it was too late.

The room had everything we needed to be comfortable, and I liked the stay overall. The only small issue was an odd smell in the bathroom.

We were greeted with fresh juice after our early flight, and the room was roomy with good AC and a decent bathroom. There was an occasional slight smell, but it wasn’t a problem. The area is quiet, yet everything we wanted was within walking distance. They offered discounted tours and trips, which was useful. We had breakfast at Lady Bake around the corner, then stone-cooked pizza further down the same road. It wasn’t very Thai, but it was good value and busy, which felt like a good sign. The night temple trip and bamboo family elephant care were incredible. We also went bamboo rafting, saw more elephants, then visited the sticky waterfall. Water and lunch were included, and our guide Sak was a total legend. We spent an afternoon riding at Pong Horse Barn, which was fun. The horses were all well cared for. I’d suggest having your own transport or asking the same taxi driver to wait, since Grab isn’t available out there. We’ll stay again on our next trip to Chaing Mai.

The rooms are modern and clean, and the staff are friendly. It’s tucked into a roomy, quiet alley, so it felt more private, while still being right in the heart of Chiang Mai’s old town. We could walk pretty much everywhere.
