The room is simple and practical, with clean bedding and air conditioning that worked well, though it felt a little dark and compact. Sound insulation is average, so light sleepers may want to bear that in mind. The open courtyard and shared spaces show off the impressive industrial design, and everything looked clean and well maintained. With lots of cafes and restaurants nearby, the location is convenient. Premier Hostel Chiang Mai is a good choice for a short visit if you value location and industrial style over comfort. I'd suggest 1-2 nights rather than a longer stay.

The one issue was the very slow water from both the shower and sink. It felt like the pump might have failed. Other than that, everything was spot on, and I'd absolutely stay here again. I had the Suite at Premier Hostel Chiang Mai, which was genuinely amazing. It was huge, with a massive, super comfortable bed, easily one of the best rooms I've had while travelling. The location in the Old Town is great for walking to temples, cafés, and night markets. I highly recommend the suite. 👍

The reception was the worst check-in experience in my lifetime of travel. I've stayed in hotels and hostels daily for years, and reception should receive guests and accommodation should accommodate. This place did neither. A male staff member was disrespectful, and I won't support this place again. The outside looks good, but inside I found it a disgrace to hostel culture: too big and industrial, full hipster, with a huge kitchen you can't actually cook in. The reception wasn't professional, which made the place's design even harder to overlook. They made me wait while a young owner threatened to call the police over a misunderstanding. That kind of language issue happens all the time in Thailand between non-Thai speakers and Thai non-native speakers. When I said I'd put it on Google Maps reviews, their tone changed. If you want a hostel that calls the police as soon as there's a misunderstanding, by all means go here. Otherwise, take my advice and save yourself the trouble and stress. Do business with people who know how to do good business. This ain't the place. Hipster industrial capitalism at its finest. Boycott these people. Stay away. Don't say I didn't warn you. 😂😂😂

The beds are huge and comfortable, and the service was good, but the design has some major flaws. The bathroom and shower are right beside the beds. You have to open a huge metal door and lock it manually with a key every time, and both things are extremely loud and can ruin a good night's rest. The blinds don't fully cover the sleeping area either. The 300bhat key deposit was meh.

I stayed a few nights in December 2025 in a lower bunk in a six-person room on the 3rd floor. I got there early and could check in, but couldn't enter the room until 15:00. At check-in I received a bath towel, toilet paper, and two bottles of water. A dorm bed booked directly at reception was 269 baht. The room has one toilet, one shower, and one sink, plus there's one toilet on the floor. My bed was spacious, with a 1-meter-wide area beside it for large luggage. Staff were friendly and helpful. There’s a kitchen without a stove, ice trays in the fridge, a water dispenser, and a laundry drying area. The common area has an open ceiling, which feels airy. Eating isn't allowed on the 1st floor, but you can eat and drink on the 2nd. Some useful details: key deposit is 300 baht. Drinks and snacks are sold there: Chang beer 620ml is 90B, water is 20B, and instant noodles are 30B. WiFi measured 22Mbps at 18:00 in the bed, then 6.7Mbps at 21:00 in the common areas. There's no hair dryer, and the outdoor terrace seating is a smoking area. I messaged before my stay but never got a reply. There are lots of guesthouses on the next street, though they seem to have small rooms and common areas.
