Radateeree Boutique Resort

We left about 20 minutes after checking in and booked another hotel. The bed felt like a hard, springy rock, and it was the last straw after a rough start. We'd arrived around 11, straight from our flight from Australia, hungry and in Chiang Mai for the lantern festival. The front desk staff kindly let us check in early, but the restaurant was only open for breakfast. Since the hotel is in a residential area, getting food elsewhere meant a 100-200 baht Grab ride, assuming we could find one. We accepted that we'd need to plan more, then learned the Wi-Fi wasn't working. That was okay, but when they showed us our pool access room, they said the pool would be closed for our entire stay. We'd received no notice, and I checked our booking and emails as well as the booking sites. We were shocked and disappointed. The front desk staff were lovely and seemed just as surprised. We were told we couldn't get any money back, even though we'd paid extra for a room with pool access and expected to use the pool. That was the most expensive bathroom break we've ever had. Very disappointing.

I barely slept. The mattress was rock hard, there was no hot water, and the air conditioning was extremely loud. The hotel was way out of the way, so getting a taxi took forever. Later that night, there wasn't anyone at the front desk at all.

Just a heads-up: maps show two Radatree locations, and one of them points to Saitama Cafe by mistake. The place I'm reviewing is the correct Radatree Boutique Resort. It was a fantastic, peaceful stay in a tranquil natural setting, with spacious, clean, very cozy rooms. I'd highly recommend it for a relaxing visit to Chiang Mai!

I've stayed at many hotels in this category, and this is the best one so far. Clean, beautiful, fresh, and just a good feeling all around.
