The receptionist girls were nice, but the stay was absolutely horrible. I booked because of the high rating and now wonder how reliable it is. At 900 baht a night, I could have found somewhere much better. The room was extremely small. As a solo traveler with only a carry-on, I managed, but a couple with bigger bags would have felt as cramped as in an airplane bathroom. There was only a mattress in a small square room, with nowhere to store clothes or hang a wet towel for a multi-night stay. The bathroom was dirty, and like in older facilities, the whole floor got wet when showering. The shower, bathroom, and sink were shared, with rusty handles that looked unhygienic. Men and women used the same facilities, and there were only two sinks for eight rooms. Guests had to take off their shoes at the entrance, but the floor was so dirty that my socks turned completely black after walking in the hall a few times. The walls were thin enough that I could clearly hear people talking in their rooms and someone brushing their teeth in the hallway. The property is down a dark, narrow alley that felt unsafe to walk through alone at night.

It was pretty affordable, and the service was kind. My friend and I had a two-bed room, but apart from lockers there wasn’t much in it. The beds were hard, so I wouldn’t recommend it if hard beds are a problem for you. The bathroom and shower are in a separate area, though they’re in the same room. I’m pretty sure there wasn’t hot water when I showered at night, based on my experience. Otherwise, the environment was pretty comfortable.

We appreciated the stay and can recommend it overall, especially for the cozy, homey atmosphere and the lovely, welcoming front desk lady. The hotel is in a quiet area but still within walking distance of one of the old city’s main roads, with all kinds of street food and experiences nearby. The rooms are a bit primitive and don’t get much natural light. We couldn’t work out how to get hot water in the bathroom, where the shower is right beside the toilet. The walls are incredibly thin, so light sleepers should bring earplugs. You can hear neighbours coughing and talking through them.

I tried to stay longer, but they were booked, so I’d definitely come back. The outdoor area is chill, the location and price are great, and check-in and baggage storage are flexible. Friendly staff, AC, water, and bananas too.

The room was cheap, and I didn’t notice any insects in it. The shared bathroom, though, was damp and smelly, probably because it doesn’t have enough ventilation.
