Samsibsan Hostel

For the price, it was a pretty good stay, though I think the place might suit dorm guests better than people booking a private room. Our double room was much smaller than it looked in the photos. The WiFi and air conditioning worked well, but the inside of the fan was dusty and dirty. The bathrooms weren’t great: both drains were blocked and water spread across the floor when they were used. The shower gel and shampoo bottles were empty, and there was no toilet paper. The location was convenient, though the outside and entrance photos seem old; it now looks overgrown and untidy.

The owner is a young local, and the place had only been open for six months when I wrote this. It’s a relaxing, friendly spot near nice restaurants, markets, and temples. The staff are really helpful and want you to have a good experience. The rooms are a little small, but the price is very low. You can buy drinks here, and laundry is just a house or two away. Give them your business!

Good value for the money, with friendly staff who’ll work with you to make sure you enjoy your stay. Just keep in mind that the mattresses are typically Thai and very firm. That might matter if you sleep on your side. Otherwise, it’s a nice place.

Set inside the Old City, this hostel has a good location, a small kitchen, a coffee bar, and breakfast in the morning. The staff are friendly and speak good English. You can meet other travelers and locals here, or find a cozy spot to read or plan the next day. There are private rooms available, but shared rooms are part of the deal if you don’t mind them. This is the spot.
