Shewe Wana Boutique Hotel

The honeymoon room was such a thoughtful surprise, beautifully decorated and a lovely touch that made the stay feel special and romantic. We felt celebrated and appreciated. The people here were just as memorable. The staff were warm, kind, and genuinely caring, always smiling and making an effort to help us feel at home. And the food was outstanding, fresh, delicious, and nicely prepared, with plenty of variety at every meal. We had a wonderful time and would happily recommend this hotel for its food, service, and friendly atmosphere. We hope to return someday.

KATE made a real difference for us. We had a rough start at reception, but she was kind and professional, and helped us switch rooms. The place feels authentic and beautiful, even though the hotel itself isn’t new. Our suite was very spacious, with an old-fashioned charm. Breakfast was good, though the pool area could use better upkeep. We had a great stay.

The staff were super friendly and professional, which was the one real plus. But I wouldn’t rate this original part of the hotel as four stars, three at most. The bed and pillows were also very hard. The newer sister resort next door seems more like a four-star place. Location was another downside for me: in the two blocks just outside, I saw more people begging for money than during my entire week in Chiang Mai. I should have researched better. There are nicer hotels closer to restaurants for less money.

We were visiting Thailand for the first time, and this hotel and its staff will always be a lovely memory. Rose, Eng, and Kate were so kind and helpful, and the location felt beautiful and unique, like an oasis in the city. The rooms are traditional, the personal service is wonderful, and there’s some really good, reasonably priced street food within walking distance. We’ll come back one day.
