Being right in the center of the old town made it easy to walk everywhere. I was on the ground floor, where a private door opens straight onto the pool, which was great for a quick dip. A few small bugs did get in now and then, even with the doors and windows closed, which I expected with pool access. The room felt clean and had a comfortable bed, strong WiFi, plenty of outlets and light switches by the bed, bottled water, shampoo, shower gel, a toothbrush, and more. It finally felt like staying in a proper hotel, and the value and comfort were great for the price. I’d happily return. A couple of things to know: it’s a wet-room shower, so the whole bathroom floor gets wet, bath mat included. The heater only gave lukewarm water at night in cooler weather, and, like most places in Thailand, toilet paper goes in the bin. Still, I’d recommend it for the convenient location and real hotel feel.

We stayed three nights and liked the place enough to strongly recommend it. It’s very convenient, with eateries and shops nearby and the Sunday evening night market just a five-minute walk away. The receptionist spoke English, which was a plus, and helped us book a day tour at 10pm for the next day, a driver to the airport, and a half-day tour to Mae Rim. Our room was clean and had coffee and tea facilities, a big fridge, towels, bathrobes, and toiletries. We really liked the firmness of the bed. There are three flights of stairs, but that wasn’t a problem for us. There’s a pool too, though we never got around to swimming.

The staff were very friendly, and our room was clean with comfortable beds and pillows. They left four bottles of water in the room every day, which was very good. The swimming pool was nice, though a little shady. The location is very good, and the hotel has the basics for a comfortable, clean stay. It has no lift, which some people may find annoying, but it didn’t bother us. There’s also no restaurant, transfer service, or laundry service.

We were very disappointed. The photos gave a misleading impression, and there was nothing about the place that felt “boutique.” Our room was small and not very clean, with a huge fridge beside the bed that clearly needed cleaning. The thin bedding smelled old and damp, and the beds were hard and uncomfortable. The lighting was awful, with harsh ceiling spotlights or one very dim bedside light and no lamp. Every room opened onto an echoing corridor, so the place felt much more like a hostel than a hotel. We booked four nights, but left after one and moved to a four-star hotel for the same price. Based on what we experienced, the positive reviews are baffling and didn’t match the stay at all.

The place looks just as nice as the pictures, and the location is awesome. We’ve stayed at four- and five-star hotels in Phuket and Koh Lanta, and this place was at least as clean and put together as the best of them, if not more so. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Huge shoutout to ‘O’ for making our stay amazing. 100% recommend!
