I stayed five nights and didn’t see another guest, so this isn’t a good choice if you’re traveling solo and hoping to meet people or socialize. The nightlife seems to be in the northwest of the old town. The woman working there was very sweet and helpful when I saw her, though that wasn’t often. On arrival, no one was at the desk, and my taxi driver had to call three times to get the front gates opened. After checkout I left my bags behind the desk and went to lunch before my flight. When I came back, the gates were locked and nobody was at the desk. Very frustrating and inconvenient. My room was spacious, very quiet, and had excellent air conditioning. The private bathroom was small but adequate, with hot water if wanted. Linens were changed daily, and the bottled water, instant coffee, and kettle were restocked each day. There was also a fridge in the room. The beds were very hard.

This is a good-sized room with a mini fridge, kettle for hot water, small table, and Wi-Fi. The bathroom is cramped, but has hot water. It’s on a quiet little street in the southwest part of Old City, with a 7-Eleven and restaurants nearby. Since it isn’t a hotel, there’s no front desk, but staff respond quickly to emails and phone calls.

The proprietor was very nice and spoke enough English to handle business, but there’s a required 1000 THB cash deposit and the bar/cafe was closed. The bed was as hard as the tile floor, and mosquitoes covered the shower stalls. The warped room door has only a push-button knob lock, which was very easy to jiggle open without the key. There’s no room safe and the room doors are accessible to the public, so security is nonexistent. Don’t stay here if you have anything pilferable.

This place was okay, good enough, I guess. I booked through Agoda at a ridiculous price, though the location was very good, quiet, and near the city centre. I had to ask twice for the sheets to be changed because the first ones weren’t clean or fresh. After they were changed, everything was fine, and the owner apologized quickly. The bed is really hard, but that depends on what you like. We actually slept pretty well. The rest of the service was okay, and laundry service is available. If you’re arriving late or early in the day, this hostel might not be right for you. Reception is only open from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm.
