Thai Akara - Lanna Boutique Hotel

We had noisy, drunk neighbors one night, and there was a brief blackout during our stay. The outage could be a concern for guests who need to keep medication cool, though it only happened once and didn't change my rating. I also took a star off because smoking isn't allowed anywhere on the property, and the designated area outside wasn't very inviting. We booked a balcony room because I'm a smoker, but only found out about the strict policy when we arrived. Maybe I should've read the description more carefully. Even so, Thai Akara is a beautiful property with genuinely lovely staff. Thanks to Monika and her team for an excellent breakfast, with great variety and a perfect start to every day. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a charming, central place in Chiang Mai.

Monika was especially professional and made things happen at the hotel. Her afternoon desserts by the pool were delicious. We had a charming room with a nice balcony, and the pool was pleasantly heated. The location couldn't be better, right in the middle of the old town. The personnel were very kind, and I can warmly recommend Thai Akara Lanna Boutique hotel.

Jedi went above and beyond for us, and we give him five stars as well as the hotel. He and Anita organized our group tours so smoothly, and all the staff, especially Jedi, were so friendly and helpful. We came from California to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday, and Jedi made the stay delightful. The pools are mostly shaded, with sun for only an hour or two in the morning and afternoon, so it isn't the right spot if you're hoping to tan beside the pool. The place itself is sweet and quiet, with exceptionally helpful staff. The location is great, and you can walk to most places unless you're going far away or on an excursion.
