The y smart hotel

The rooms and bathrooms are modern and very clean, the desk staff are friendly, and water and a kettle are provided. You can get extras for a price, though it might just be a deposit. It’s a nice affordable place near the bus station, with a bistro/cafe connected to the lobby, several restaurants, bike rentals, and a 7-Eleven nearby. I only stayed because I needed to catch a bus the next day, and probably wouldn’t stay long term while visiting CM. The walls are a little thin, and my neighbors were very drunk, which was unfortunate. If your room faces the street, it can also get noisy somewhat early. It’s not a luxury hotel, so it’s funny seeing people complain that they aren’t catered to in every possible way. For the price, it’s a good stay.

I stayed one night after coming back from Chiang Rai, since we expected to fly home the next day. The room was clean and had the basics, but no kettle or hair dryer. Bus Terminal 3 is very near, while attractions and the airport are far away, so you’ll need to take a Maxim or Grab. There’s no lift, just stairs, and the building has three floors.

The room was available, but they still refused to adjust anything, even though I was willing to pay the extra fee. I tried to change my check-in date within the allowed period, 20 minutes after booking, and was forced to rebook with no other option. We understand the cancellation and conversion rules very well, should be more flexible. I understand it was low season and hotels may want more bookings, but my experience with The Y Smart Hotel was quite disappointing. The staff and owner seem to want bookings without understanding how travelers feel. They’re making more money anyway. This hotel is really greedy. They weren’t attentive or helpful, and the service felt very bad. If you’re planning to stay here, I’d consider other hotels in the same area with better service and more care for customers. You get more money anyway. This hotel is greedy for most.

The toilet was a little old, especially the sink. Still, for the price and what I got, I’d recommend this place if you need somewhere convenient near the bus stations. I stayed one night in late October 2024, arriving in Chiang Mai late by bus and leaving early to catch another bus out. The location was excellent for both Chiang Mai bus stations. A friendly receptionist greeted us even though we arrived after 10 PM, and there were plenty of local breakfast stalls on the street outside of Arcade.
