Villa Lantara Chiang Mai

The one part that was just okay was breakfast. The buffet selection was quite small and you had to pick a hot dish separately. It was fine, but not as memorable as the rest of the stay. We spent three nights at Villa Lantara and found the staff consistently kind, welcoming, and helpful from the moment we arrived. Its location worked well for us, about a ten-minute walk from the old city center, with lots of restaurants nearby and the weekend night markets close at hand. The building has a charming old-Chinese architectural style, though it's only around five years old. Our room at the back was extremely quiet. I can imagine the balcony rooms facing the street might be noisier, but ours was perfect. The room was spacious and very clean, with elegant Chinese-style wooden decor and a comfortable queen-size bed. Housekeeping came daily. We also appreciated getting two free bottles of water and two cans of soda, Sprite or Coca-Cola, every day. The large bathroom had a nice rain shower. There's a small lift for luggage, while guests use the stairs, which didn't bother us. We'd happily recommend Villa Lantara to anyone visiting Chiang Mai.

The location made it easy to walk to markets, find food, and get to Tha Phae gate. My room was comfortable and had everything I needed to rest after exploring. What made my time in Chiang Mai so wonderful was the care from everyone at Lantara. They were welcoming from the first day and kept going above and beyond. Momay helped arrange city excursions and tickets to Muay Thai fights. When I had an early excursion, the breakfast staff packed me a sandwich to take along. Another time, my pickup was running late, and they brought me the hot chocolate I usually had with breakfast while I waited for my guide. They paid attention to the little things in a way I hadn't experienced at a hotel before. I stayed at Villa Lantara from December 27th-January 7th, and it was such an amazing experience.

The balcony was well worth choosing. I loved having coffee outside in the morning, listening to the birds. The location was perfect, with a 7-11 about a three-minute walk away and street food vendors right there too. Our tour pickups all worked from the hotel, and the area felt very safe. Toey was extremely helpful when we arrived, showing us around and carrying our bags to the rooms. Such a friendly welcome, and first impressions really do last. Thank you for being so generous! The hotel itself is great. Rooms are spacious and clean, the shower is big, the AC works, and there's a balcony. Breakfast is delicious. I'm extremely happy with my stay.

The room was long, which put the bed well away from the bathroom and separate toilet. There were no windows in my room, but the lighting was good, with both ambient and bright options that gave it a nice feel. The common areas were plain and smart, and drivers could pull up easily. It's clean, sophisticated, and nicely styled accommodation near the moat and markets. There are some great coffee places nearby, and the staff are very friendly. They also had luggage storage available at checkout.
