I was staying here for an event at Chiang rai university, and although the hotel looks peaceful, my nearly week-long stay left me very disappointed. The owner speaks no English and gave tourists no information. In my recent years of travelling in Thai, he was the least friendly hotel owner I've met. He wouldn't even say hello to guests staying almost a week, shut the front gate and open area at 9 pm, and offered no help when people carried heavy luggage from the second floor. There was no breakfast, and the only sanitary item provided was a shower cap. No kettle in the room, just one in the lobby that closed at 9 pm, and the bed was hard. Bolt and grab drivers barely knew the place, and sometimes cancelled because of the distance.

We stayed one night in a clean, well-kept place with good service. The room had enough space and a comfortable soft bed. The coffee was just medium, since the foam wasn't good, and there were no English TV channels, only Thai.

The hotel is beautiful and nicely decorated, but we weren't that impressed. Our room was clean and spacious, yet there was no breakfast, the bed was hard, the refrigerator didn't work, and there was no kettle. It came with two glass bottles of water and a hairdryer, but no toothbrush set, just a shower cap. For 1000 baht, I expected more amenities. I've stayed in cheaper hotels that provide everything.

I booked on a whim and ended up finding a great place to stay. The bed had just the right balance of softness and firmness, and I slept so deeply I woke up with drool all over my face! It was quiet and peaceful, close to Big C and the airport. Breakfast wasn't included, but that didn't bother me much.
