The Imperial River House Resort

I've stayed here a couple more times, in both suites and regular rooms. This visit we had a deluxe room. The pool is very large and clean, gets sun from 9 in the morning, and overlooks the river. The hotel is in a calm area, and you can borrow a bicycle for free. The rooms are a bit old but spacious and clean, and the garden paths and facilities are very well maintained. Breakfast is somewhat limited, but there was enough to leave us satisfied, and you can ask them to make omelettes. I also had lunch and used the pool bar, and the Thai food was nice. I'll stay here again.

We loved staying here and would definitely come back. The restaurant had a great menu, and the Northern Thai sausage platter with green chili dip was our favorite. We tried sausage platters at every restaurant during our week in Chiang Rai, and the one at Imperial River House Resort was the best. Try it with an ice-cold Chang! We were here on our first night in Chiang Rai, which was also our first visit, and were surprised how close the hotel was to the famous Blue Temple. It’s an easy walk. Our room was spacious and very clean, with enough room for our child to move around safely, and the amenities met our needs. The riverside setting was peaceful, with lovely sunrise and sunset views.

The breakfast buffet was a highlight for us, with Thai and continental choices, including vegetarian options. The staff there were attentive and friendly. We didn’t realize when booking that the resort was just a two-minute walk from the Blue Temple. It was a nice surprise, and we went back twice during our stay, including once to catch the sunset. The resort itself was great, and the hospitality was outstanding. Everything was well organized, and the staff were kind. This was our favorite stay during a month in Thailand. It felt like a five-star resort at a four-star price.

The pool and breakfast were both excellent, and the air conditioning in the building worked very well. The hotel is close to the Blue Temple. Rooms and bedding were clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was excellent. Parking was plentiful, the price was good, and customer service was excellent. There’s a lift, and getting to the rooms is easy.
