There's no restaurant or bar nearby, but the neighborhood is very quiet. Kaew Place is a 15-minute walk from the center of Chiang Rai and 10 minutes from the river. The hotel is very clean, with daily room cleaning and fresh towels. It has satellite TV, air conditioning, a fridge, and good WiFi. For me, it's number one.

We paid 10€ per room, and it was definitely worth it. The room and toilet were not bad, and it's a super-cheap place. It's a little outside the city, so I had trouble explaining to a taxi driver where to take me. The staff don't speak English, but the lady understood and helped surprisingly well.

The owners are friendly and can help arrange tours and transport. There's also a good, simple restaurant next door. It's a clean, quiet place, conveniently located about a 15-minute walk from the bus station and night bazaar.

The rooms are basic, but new and clean. Breakfast was extremely poor, and the staff barely speak English. I'd have given it two stars, but the price is so low that I can give it a third.

It's a good, new place to stay overnight in Chiang Rai, but far from everything. You'll need to rent a motorbike.
