Ks Hotel

The riverside setting at Le Méridien Chiang Rai Resort is beautiful, and the arrival view is grand. The staff were lovely, while the lobby, pool, and shared spaces were spacious and well kept. My room was modern, gorgeous, and very clean, with comfortable beds, a large spotless bathroom, and a balcony where I could sit and enjoy the view. We also liked the plentiful, delicious restaurant choices at the hotel, and the breakfast buffet was a great bonus, included with my Marriott status. The grounds are clean and cared for. Being right by the river does mean mosquitoes and little lizards are everywhere, including on the walls and sometimes outside guest room doors. I was a bit nervous, but thankfully none got into my room. Still a fabulous resort, and I'd come back.

The spa massage was wonderful and added a lot to our stay. We also ate at both restaurants on site, the Thai and the Italian, and loved them both. The food was delicious, and breakfast had an excellent, high-quality selection. The gardens are beautifully maintained, with wide lawns and open spaces that make the whole property feel peaceful. Our room was spacious, elegant, and comfortable, and the service was professional, attentive, and genuinely warm. Le Méridien Chiang Rai Resort is a stunning place to slow down and relax. I'd happily return to Chiang Rai just to stay here again. Highly recommended if you want nature, tranquility, and top-level comfort.

Breakfast was a highlight, with a thoughtful mix of Western and Thai options, all well prepared in a serene setting. Dining was consistently good too, with balanced flavors and quality ingredients. Staff were warm, professional, and attentive without intruding, and everything ran smoothly from check-in onward. The rooms were comfortable, quiet, and well kept, with excellent beds and thoughtful details. The spacious common areas, pool, and paths along the river made for lovely, unhurried walks. Le Méridien Chiang Rai sits beautifully in the landscape, with wide green spaces and a calm riverside feel that helps you slow down. It suits both a relaxing break and a longer stay, with comfort and a refined but unpretentious atmosphere. A great base for experiencing Chiang Rai at a more thoughtful pace.

The one weak spot for me was Favola Restaurant. Service was slow, and the food didn't quite meet the otherwise high standard of the hotel. Everything else was excellent across both of my stays at Le Méridien Chiang Rai Resort, before and after my trip to Laos. The staff were exceptional, warm, attentive, and professional. At check-in, one gentleman whose name I unfortunately forgot gave particularly outstanding service. They recognized my Marriott status and kindly upgraded me to a Grand Deluxe Room with a pool view. The rooms had plenty of space, a large bathroom and bathtub, and that lovely classic Le Méridien style. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with lots of choices and local touches like a Northern Thai breakfast set, fresh juice stations, satay, and Thai sausages. I also loved the spa: both my Thai and aroma massages were fantastic and well worth it. A beautiful resort with a relaxing atmosphere, genuinely kind staff, and great value for money. Highly recommended for Chiang Rai.
