Wiang Inn Hotel Chiang Rai

We didn’t try the pool or have lunch or dinner at the restaurant, but the WiFi worked without any trouble. We stayed for two nights, and our room was clean, roomy, and had a good-sized shower. The hotel is right in the city centre, so everything is within walking distance.

The location is what made this such a handy base for Chiang Rai. The Night Bazaar and Golden Clock Tower are only a couple of minutes away on foot, and there are plenty of massage shops, beer bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and even a cat café nearby. We enjoyed coffee while petting the cats. If you’re hungry, Ribs & Co is worth a visit. It’s also easy to arrange trips around northern Thailand, including the “7 in one day” tour, and Central Plaza is about five minutes away by taxi. The hotel is a good size and popular with coach groups. It’s around 10 minutes from the airport by Bolt and two minutes from Bus Terminal 1 on foot. There’s a big car park on site. Check-in was friendly and efficient, and two separate lift banks serve the rooms. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a good bed, a proper desk, fridge, kettle, tea and coffee, two bottles of water, and a safe. There aren’t any notable views. The bathroom felt a bit cramped, with the bath and shower behind a solid glass screen, which might be awkward for anyone with limited mobility. The rooms and upper hallways are somewhat dated, though that can feel like part of its Thai charm. The restaurant by reception serves a breakfast buffet with lots of choices for different tastes. There’s a lobby bar with live music in the evenings, as well as a karaoke bar and club downstairs. The large pool is at the back, but it stays shaded all day. The water was quite cold, and the loungers didn’t get direct sun either. A convenient, comfortable place to explore the city and region from. Enjoy 👍🏼

We had a great three-night stay at Wiang inn hotel with friends. The rooms were large and very clean, and the staff were friendly, smiling, and keen to help. In the evening there was live music in the nice bar, and the swimming pool was lovely too. Restaurants and The Night Bazaar are close by.

The place was clean and the location near the town centre was good. Beyond that, we had a few frustrations. We booked a king bed but got two double beds, and they couldn’t fix it. The beds we had were much too soft for us. The TV wasn’t really a smart TV, so there was no way to use Netflix or other apps. Ice from the restaurant cost 35 baht, which seemed a bit cra-cra. The staff did try to help, but they didn’t speak English and we don’t speak Thai, so sorting out problems was difficult.
