We were anxious after reading the negative reviews, and I still don't understand them. My wife and I found a warm, welcoming place, with the couple who run it looking after us from the moment we arrived. Even their dogs came over to greet the new guests. The hotel has its own creative character, and we felt cared for like family. We'll come back for that atmosphere and the surroundings. The beach is right outside. It may not be for swimming, but you can dip your feet in the ocean, walk, take sunrise photos, or enjoy coffee in the morning and a late-night snack in one of the seating areas. Our room had a fridge and a shower with hot water. A screw or two could use attention, but that didn't spoil the stay. The bed was fine, the sheets clean, the pillows comfortable, and there was space for clothes on hangers, plus a mirror and wall table. Clean towels were ready for us. Breakfast was very local Thai food: rice soup, bread, local coffee, chinese donuts, bananas, and eggs. Plenty to get the day started. Maybe some visitors arrive expecting the fancy extras and top-level service of a 4-5 star hotel. This is a different kind of place, and we felt genuinely looked after.

It's in a nice setting and has potential, but the room smelled of vomit in one corner and excrement in the other. The door wouldn't lock, and the manager spent over an hour trying to repair it before offering us another room.

A sweet couple runs this cute hotel, which has plenty of character. People say it's run down, but everything seemed fine to me. The surrounding area, rather than the hotel itself, does feel somehow abandoned, so bear that in mind.

The beach was dirty, it smelled really bad, and they wouldn't let us cancel the booking. We paid more than 4000 for two knights and couldn't stay. Their sign says "keep calm and enjoy the sea". How could I? Don't go there.

The room was clean, the coffee was good, and I had a beach front room. The lady was very nice, and so were the dogs. Highly recommend. I don't get all the bad comments, pretty sure those people only stay in 5 star hotels.
