Upsea hotel Patong Phuket

Really great hotel, with strong Wi-Fi, a clean room, and very comfy beds.

We had to run here after spending a night at another terrible hotel. They welcomed us late at night and found us a room, and we're really grateful. For the price, this is a wonderful hotel. The room was spacious and clean, with everything we needed: a safe, kettle, hairdryer, slippers, and toiletries. The one downside is there’s no elevator, and we were on the 5th floor. That could be uncomfortable with small children or really heavy luggage.

The room was clean and good value for money, with all the bathroom amenities we needed. The air conditioner worked well, and it was quiet, not far from the beach or 7-11. Check-in was a bit of a problem. We arrived late at night, though the website said check-in was 2PM-3AM. I called the number listed on the site several times to confirm the booking, but no one answered until one call finally got through and they confirmed it. Still, nobody was at reception when we arrived. A hotel staff member came after 20 minutes and tried to sort things out for us. They didn't speak fluent English or Thai, but we did get the room.

The room was basic but clean, with excellent air conditioning. It was a 2-minute walk to the beach and 5 minutes from Bangla Road. The bathroom was smart, with good, powerful showers. Plug-in insect repellents and lots of plug adapters in the room were a really nice touch. Special mention to the lady at reception. I didn't catch her name, but she's amazing, nothing was too much trouble, and she's a real credit to the hotel.
