Nora Guesthouse

The fan room is basic but clean, and everything was in order. If mosquitoes bother you a lot, bring or ask for a net, though I was fine without one. The two owners/caretakers were kind and helpful. They arranged our ferry to Koh Tao at no extra cost, with pickup from the hotel.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and they let me leave my luggage without charge while I spent three days in the hospital. We had planned to stay for three days, but I got sick and needed to stay longer, which was no problem. The rooms are small and the beds a little uncomfortable, though acceptable for the very low price. I got sick during the stay, but it had nothing to do with the guesthouse. For a basic, cheap place, it was an okay stay.

The staff are nice and the price is good, but the four double rooms in the section we stayed in have mosquito nets instead of windows, so you hear everything. The beds are uncomfortable, and there was just one small child's blanket for the two of us.

There was no hot water, and I could feel the mattress through the bed. The pillows felt like they weren't really there either. We asked for another pillow and were told it'd come in ten minutes, but it never arrived. The door only closed with the key, and a gap let mosquitoes come through. We've stayed in lots of other guesthouses in Thailand for the same price or less, and they were all in much better condition.
