Southgate Residence Hotel

The rooms are large and clean, with comfortable beds, Smart TVs and quiet, effective A/C, and the pool is big and beautiful. The hotel is in a quiet part of town. On the downside, the front desk staff seemed undertrained, and the pool was full of 30 kids who weren’t hotel guests one afternoon. My room’s TV wouldn’t connect to WiFi, there was no safe, and breakfast was inadequate and lacking. There’s no 7 or restaurants nearby, so you need a car.

A secure car park and a varied breakfast make this a decent stopover if you have a car. There isn’t any food or a convenience store within walking distance, though. My room wasn’t clean, with lots of hair on the floor and on the toilet wall.

We arrived after 10 pm, but our rooms were already prepared, so we could settle in right away. The staff were friendly, helpful and quick to assist. We’d booked two rooms for our family, and both were surprisingly spacious and very clean, with plenty of room for luggage. The refrigerator and terrace were nice extras. We were given a forest-facing room, where we could see the trees and the sun rising from the window. The location worked well for our family trip, and we hope to stay again.

For a night on our drive south from Bangkok, this was great value. The rooms are basic but large and very clean, with cold A/C, a hot shower, big fridge, large window, and a soft, comfortable bed. Breakfast was included and had a good range of food. I didn’t have time to use the inviting-looking pool. The staff were friendly and helpful, and there’s a big parking lot with an easy drive from the main highway. I didn’t notice noise from the train tracks. It’s not somewhere I’d spend weeks of a holiday, but it’s a good place to stop while travelling. Thank you!
