Check-in and checkout were quick and simple, and the locations usually make HOP INN a handy place to stop between cities. It's budget-friendly and works well for a short stay. The rooms are basic rather than luxurious, but they're clean, with a good bed and a safe, practical setup. I've found the rooms simple and consistent across branches, so you know what to expect.

The beds and air-con were good, and the morning staff and maid were cheerful. The evening staff weren't friendly. My shower was too hot and had weak pressure. From my room on the sixth floor, halfway down the corridor, I could hear the elevator running all night, a quiet but constant noise. The heavy doors and alarms are a problem too, since guests keep slamming them and setting off the alarms. I won't stay at another Hop Inn.

Hop Inn is a dependable, safe pick, and the place is clean, comfortable, and minimalist. Still, I think you can find better options for less along the main strip. I wandered around there and by Ocean shopping centre, where I had dinner, got a haircut, and got a massage. Chumphon feels like a safe country town, with decent street food every night.
