Loft Mania Boutique Hotel

This seems like a popular place to check in when stopping between long-distance trips. The hotel is clean and lovely, with a gym and swimming pool. Breakfast isn’t halal, though, and it would be very helpful for Muslim travelers like us if they served halal food.

Nothing special. The bed felt hard to me, though someone else might find it comfortable. It wasn’t very quiet, and I could hear what was happening outside on the floor. Still, everything was clean and smelled good.

The pool beside the coffee shop was lovely, and the shop made superb iced coffees. My room had a comfortable bed and everything I needed, including a leather Chesterfield sofa. The place is quirky, with interesting objects and memorabilia from around the world on display. I got checked straight into my room when I arrived at 10am after an early flight from Bangkok, which was a nice surprise. Not all the staff speak English, but there was always someone around who had a good grasp of it. The manager is a very pleasant woman and speaks excellent English. The bar and restaurant menu is mostly Thai, but I could get ham and eggs and a good club sandwich, though the bread could have been toasted a bit more. I only stayed one night, but it was a very good experience. Thanks to all the staff for making my short stay so good. I’ll come back if I’m in Chumphon again.

The low hum from the air conditioner was the most unpleasant part of the night. The building has no soundproofing, so I could hear the street, the corridor, and the TV and voices from the next room all night. The rooms look nice and clean at first glance, but the design is terrible. I don’t recommend it.
