Hatyai Holiday Hotel

The hotel has a shuttle service, and the staff are friendly. The rooms are clean, but some tiles are broken and paint is peeling off the walls. It’s an old building that seems to have been refurbished recently, though the work wasn’t done very well. The beds are very soft and sit on rolling wheels, so they squeak and can shift when you move. WiFi was hard to connect to. It’s about a 15-minute walk to Hatyai Railway Station and the town area, so not the closest but manageable. Not bad overall, but not a solid choice.

The lobby and lift look a bit worn and could use an upgrade. The hotel is non-smoking, though there are smoking areas on every floor. Rooms are clean and have the basics: soap, towels, hot shower and WiFi. I liked that they fold the towels into cute elephants. It’s within walking distance of the market and other spots, and free shuttle vans are available for farther trips or if you don’t feel like walking.

We picked this hotel because we needed connecting rooms, and the service was great. The customer service was very friendly, and they spoke decent English. The amenities are basic. Noise from people talking and walking could really disturb sleep; during our three-night stay, we had two awful nights because the kids upstairs just wouldn’t settle down. The soundproofing is poor, so I may not come back. Breakfast was lame, and I wouldn’t recommend having it here unless you need to. Lee garden plaza is about 1 km away, roughly a 10-15 minute walk.

The room was a 9/10: the decor and bed were very comfortable, though soundproofing was poor. When room service came, they always refilled the mineral water after we finished it. There’s also a free tut tut shuttle. Breakfast gets 10/10 from me, with porridge as another choice, and it was included when I booked through agoda. Service was 10/10 too, all the staff were very friendly. I’ll come back.
