The room was clean, with good AC and a balcony of our own. The woman at reception was incredibly friendly and helpful. It has a homey feel, so I’d recommend it if that’s what you’re looking for. The bathrooms could use an update, though.

After waiting an hour without hearing back and seeing no one turn up, I gave up and booked another hotel instead of waiting any longer. Three or four hours later, someone texted to ask where I was. I was quite disappointed with how this was handled.

A good spot for backpackers. The owner is friendly and takes care of everything. I’ve never found that before. I love it ❤️

The bed was very comfortable, the AC worked perfectly, and the housekeeper was extremely polite, friendly, and helpful. But there are quite a few things that could be better. The hostel is far down an alley, so it’s a long walk in Hat Yai’s intense heat, past barking stray dogs. There were mosquitoes inside, and the shared kitchen felt stuffy without a fan. Management rarely replied to messages. The bathroom door made a lot of noise, and the water pressure was extremely weak. At night, loud conversations and music bass could be heard until 1AM. I could also smell cigarette smoke inside, despite the strict no-smoking policy.

The only real drawback for me was the lack of hot water, haha. It wasn’t a major problem in such hot weather, though. The owner was very kind and friendly, and the cleanliness was incredible for the price. It’s a comfortable, quiet place a little way from the city center, which suited me as a solo traveler. There are lots of nearby restaurants, though with so many halal options, they weren’t much of a draw for me since I live in Malaysia. If you need anything else, it’s all there. You can also rent a bike from the owner for 55 baht a day, making it even more affordable to get around. I don’t need anything more, and I’d definitely stay here again if I travel solo to Hat Yai. It’s the best hotel I’ve stayed at recently, not just in Hat Yai but among all the hotels I’ve been to.
