TR Rock Hill Hotel

A good fit for a short visit or even a stay of a few weeks. The hotel is modern and well maintained, on Hat Yai’s southeast side, and you can walk to the university, a laundromat, and several good places to eat.

TR Rock Hill has been a dependable place to stay in Hat Yai in 2025. It isn't especially fancy, but the welcome is warm, the rooms are clean, and the staff are helpful and attentive. Breakfast was a highlight, with plenty of tasty choices to start the day. The location makes it easy to get to local attractions and amenities, and the price feels fair for the experience.

I stayed at TR Rock Hill for almost a month and had a good experience. The rooms stayed cool even when we left the air conditioning off for 15 hours, and they were cleaned daily. Most days the linens were changed, though sometimes the beds were just made up again, which was fine with me. We didn't have trouble with mosquitoes; just keep the door shut. The room design is unusual, with brick and a Spiderman theme, so it may take some getting used to. There are some drawbacks. The hallways and elevator aren't air conditioned, and one section has an outdoor ramp to other rooms. WiFi didn't reach the desk in my room, but it worked near the bathroom or in the hallway. The shower never got properly hot, and the pressure changed from night to night. Food choices were decent, but stayed much the same: rice, noodles, spicy chicken, bread with jam or butter, and salad. It got repetitive. Rooms facing the street or pool could hear bar music from about 10 pm to 1 am most evenings. It wasn't a huge disturbance, but I like quiet. English at reception was hit or miss, so I sometimes needed Google Translate. Roti de Forest next door is really nice. Kindergarden, a little cafe with coffee, tea, and Western food, was good too, though I got severe food poisoning there and spent a night in the hospital. Even with that, the hotel gave me what I needed to rest during my Hat Yai trip, and I felt it was worth the price.

I've stopped by a few times for a latte. It's a quiet spot away from the crowds, nice for a chat or a business conversation. The coffee is only average, but the price is fair and the staff are courteous.
