Hop Inn Hat Yai Downtown (SHA Extra Plus)

The room was clean and spacious, and it’s a nice hotel to stay in overall. There’s parking, and they serve hot chocolate and coffee at breakfast. There’s no kettle for making tea or coffee in the room, though. As a light sleeper, I’d suggest asking for a room that doesn’t face the main road. Traffic there was nonstop, and I couldn’t get a sound sleep.

The hotel is less than a 15 minute walk from Lee gardens shopping center and its shops and massage places, and about 25 minutes on foot from Central festival mall. Staff were friendly and helpful. I paid about RM 80 per room per night. It’s a good affordable hotel, with simple but comfortable rooms and a very comfy bed. You only get one pillow per person, though, and I love pillows ☺️. One thing they should improve: the bathroom dispensers are labeled only in Thai, so it’s not clear which one is shower gel and which is shampoo.

We always stay at Hop inn. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the hotel is tidy and clean, with all the necessities and facilities for guests. It’s good value for money. Soundproofing should be added to all the rooms, though.

For a short visit to Hat Yai, this is a nice place to stay, and I got a very good price for this trip. The staff were friendly and helpful, and there was free coffee or hot chocolate in the lobby in the morning. Be careful in the washroom because the floor gets very slippery when wet. You need to rinse away soap or shower foam with the shower head, and wipe the floor around the sink and the entrance to the shower. I nearly fell, caught myself, but still knocked my foot against the glass wall. It was still hurting 3-4 weeks later.
